pARTy is a new project within the operations of Cultureghem, a vibrant celebration organized by Cultureghem, MUS-E Belgium, and Huis van het Kind Anderlecht, transforming arts education in Kuregem into a melting pot of youth work, culture, and social welfare. We target children and youth aged 2.5 to 17 years from our neighborhood.
We collaborate with a wide spectrum of cultural organizations to deliver a varied and professional range of activities. Our offerings include year-round operations, after-school activities, holiday camps, and events. The year-round operations have a recurring nature and consist of weekly or monthly activities. For instance, for the youngest, a monthly workshop will be held at Huis van het Kind, and there will be an additional artistic offering each week at Ketmet. The after-school tracks are in collaboration with the two Dutch-speaking schools in the neighborhood: Kameleon and De Voorzieningheidschool. The holiday camps, of course, take place during the holiday months. The first camp will be held in the second week of the Easter holidays. Finally, we plan about three events per year. The event in September is an extension of the existing Cultureghem Festival.
We also focus on training and participation of youth so that they can eventually help determine and co-organize the offerings. Together with JES, we want to give young people the chance to grow as leaders during the holiday operations and KETMET moments.
pARTy aims to remove as many barriers as possible and commits to offering a low-threshold and accessible program: we reach out to children and parents where they are, ensure that administration is simple and customized, and fill the hungry stomachs that need it with a healthy meal.
LET’s pARTy, because partying is not something you do alone.
