Not on top of that: The State of FOOD AID
Bozar. On Top of That
‘Come, visit and experience our rooftop terrace rising above the city’
This summer, Bozar will let as many people as possible – Brussels residents, commuters, tourists, homebodies, exhibition and music lovers, etc. – enjoy the view of the inner city and some refreshments at the rooftop.
During the first and second week of ‘On Top of That’ Cultureghem goes on the roof of Bozar
Not on top of that: The State of FOOD AID
The state of FOOD AID is a unique and creative initiative to raise awareness of food waste and access to quality, sustainable food. Artistic institutions and citizens will join forces during the summer of 2023 to tackle these societal issues through participatory or culinary workshops, discussions and debates, games and even citizen parades in the heart of Brussels. Putting HUNGER on the agenda of citizens, cultural institutions and the political world is an urgency that The state of FOOD AID intends to address. The project demands the right of access to healthy food for all.
From the rooftop of the Palais des Beaux-Arts (BOZAR), to the bowels of the city and the Abattoir of Anderlecht, the state of FOOD AID transcends spaces and communities, transforming the waste of some into the treasures of others every day between August 23 and September 3. Between artistic “Mini parades of hunger”, a photo exhibition, a game of goose on access to food, or the recovery of unsold fruit and vegetables from the abattoir market to create a “DREAMKITCHEN” on its rooftop, BOZAR, Cultureghem and their partners will be cooking for citizens to promote equitable access to healthy food and respect for the fundamental right to food for all.
