Be sure to mark April 2nd in your calendar, because that’s when Cultureghem will shake up the Abattoir! On that Wednesday, we’ll kick off the new season with a vibrant celebration — and here’s a sneak peek of the program.
We start at 9:00 AM with the preparations for a festive meal and a giant cake. We’ve already invited our two neighboring schools to help us out, and you’re welcome to join us in baking and cooking too. We’re also organizing a group challenge game — “one against all” — so sitting still won’t be an option!
At 12:00 PM, everyone is welcome to share a meal and enjoy a little concert. We already know that our Dreamteam (our amazing volunteers) will cook up a delicious feast. In the afternoon (starting at 12:00), we’ll turn the covered market into the biggest playground in Belgium. We do this all year long, but for C PARTI, we’ll go all out with bells and whistles. Our artistic partners will give it their all!
What can you expect? An ABC workshop, a Mus-eUM experience with a Mus-e artist, Vroom vzw will guide you through Magna culture, Recyclart will immerse you in architecture, and if you feel like dancing, Leon and Tic Tac Art Centre will be there to get you moving. The challenge for the day? A brand new KETMET dance! Our internship partner Bhyrrr & Skate will also host a workshop — let’s hope the square isn’t too small!
Throughout the day, you’ll be able to discover our new project, MOBIL — a mobile installation designed to activate public spaces. MOBIL is a collaboration between Fors, Ditte van Brempt, GC De Platoo, Pool is Cool, and Filter Café Filtré.
