The ‘Kuregem Verbindt’ project brings parents and children of GBS Kameleon and Voorzienigheidsschool together around the theme of healthy eating. Thanks to the weekly soup or snack moments at school, provided by Cosmos, more and more children enjoy a healthy, hot lunch. Once a month, parents are involved by actively helping out during cooking moments. These sessions, in which Cultureghem uses its mobile kitchens, are a success, with a growing number of parents getting involved, sharing recipes and working together to put something particularly healthy on the table. The presence of other partners, such as MediKuregem during these sessions, also creates fruitful exchanges between parents and relevant actors in the neighbourhood.
After a well-deserved summer break, ‘Kuregem Verbindt’ will be back in full swing in September. We are pleased to announce the return of the cookouts with parents, with the first sessions scheduled on 17 and 24 September. These activities are the perfect opportunity to start the new school year together and further strengthen the community. We look forward to welcoming even more parents and working together for a healthy and connected Cureghem!
Kuregem Verbindt is made possible with the support of the Flemish Government, as part of the ‘Lokale bondgenotennetwerken’ call for projects.
